New Indian art deserves a room of its own.
2011
Modern Art Gallery opened near the Kashmere Gate monument in Old Delhi, on that conviction.
2018
The gallery moved its public space to Santushti Shopping Complex in Chanakyapuri, where it shows painting, sculpture and photography by modern masters alongside the next generation of Indian practice.
The programme has always leaned towards emerging voices. Many artists had their first solo exhibition here, and the MAG Young Artists Grant continues that commitment with financial support, mentorship and the chance to exhibit. Through MAG Contemporary, the gallery presents younger, experimental work at venues across the city.
Every work leaves the gallery with a certificate of authenticity, and every enquiry is answered by a person.
