Amar Sultan

Amar Sultan was born in Mussoorie in 1977 and is self-taught. He made his first marks under his father's guidance and works mainly in oil on canvas. His current series is drawn from the pigeons that live alongside people in every Indian neighbourhood, their flight and their fluttering, and the unspoken understanding between the two. The paintings are soft and simple in manner.
