Arun Pandit

Arun Pandit received the Lalit Kala Akademi National Award for sculpture in 2010. He grew up in Patna. His figures, cast in bronze and fibreglass, take on the rough surface of granite and stone, and combine realism with cubist angles. The Couples and the Musicians are his best-known series. "Not all my sculptures are beautiful," he says, and the work rewards looking closely at gesture and form.
