Bandana Kumari

Bandana Kumari studied painting at the College of Arts and Crafts, Patna University. Early awards include the Mahua Art Gallery and HK Kejriwal Foundation Award, the Prafulla Dahanukar Art Foundation Award and the Lalit Kala Akademi Lucknow Award. She paints birds, animals, flowers and landscapes in a bright palette, and often shows women as birds or riding lions and elephants. The titles are playful and the satire is quiet, as when an animal head sits on a human body.
