Ghanshyam Gupta

Ghanshyam Gupta took a BFA in painting at the Government School of Art, Aurangabad, in 1989, an MFA in printmaking at M. S. University of Baroda in 1993, and an MA in printmaking at the Royal College of Art, London, in 1997. He is a painter, sculptor and printmaker who also writes poetry, works in stone, cast metal and fibre, and has used serigraph and etching extensively. His images come from past experience, filtered and brought out in an abstract, figurative way; the themes are love and fantasy, never literally shown. In his words: "I try to capture the essence of feeling or mood and depict it through various media."
