Hiral Choudhari

Hiral Choudhari was born on 24 December 1997 in Isar, Gujarat. His subject is the move from village to city, which he has made himself, from a small village to Ahmedabad, and the pull between the two ways of living. He took a diploma in applied art at Sheth C. N. College of Fine Arts, Ahmedabad, in 2020 and a post-diploma in printmaking at M. S. University, Baroda (2020 to 2022). Awards include the Gujarat Visual Artist Association and Kala Ravi Trust prize for best painting (2017) and the Gujarat State Lalit Kala Akademi awards for sculpture and painting (2020). Solo shows include Asitis Apparao Galleries at The Lodi, New Delhi (2022) and Emigrant Stories of Mundane Life at Ravishankar Raval Kala Bhavan, Ahmedabad (2023). He was a summer resident at Space Studio, Vadodara, in 2022.
