Kamar Alam

Kamar Alam was born in Mussoorie in 1979. He took a BFA at the College of Art, Delhi, in 2003 and a postgraduate degree at Lalit Kala Sansthan, Agra, in 2005. He works mostly in pointillism, in oil, in near-monochrome with touches of contrasting colour. The paintings are stylised and figurative, with large trees and a recurring boat or tree that stands for connection: to nature, to other people, and to what he calls good karma, the idea that pure thought leads to right action.
