Pankaj Bawedkar

Pankaj Bawedkar took a BFA with first-class honours at the L. S. Raheja School of Art, Mumbai, in 2004 and an MFA with distinction at the College of Visual Arts, Indapur, in 2022. His main series is Pooram, after the festival in Kerala, and its participants: the paintings follow their pride and excitement, and over the years his palette has moved from monochrome to bright, fluorescent colour to match it. Awards include the Jehangir Sabavala Award for best stylised landscape (2016) and the Maharashtra State Award from the Prafulla Dahanukar Foundation (2018). He has shown at Artix, World Art Dubai and the India Art Festival, and his collectors include Raj Thackeray and Prince Richard Holkar.
