Sanju Jain

Sanju Jain was born in 1979 in a village in Madhya Pradesh and took a master's in painting in Indore. Borrowing from the way paper-pulp baskets are made, she works clay and other materials into a paste, bound with glue from the babool tree, and coats the canvas with it before painting. The texture is the first thing you notice. Her subjects are drawn from nature, often at sunrise and sunset. She lives and works in Bhopal.
