Uma Shankar Pathak

Uma Shankar Pathak took a BFA at the College of Art and Crafts, Patna, in 2007 and MFAs at Pracheen Kala Kendra, Chandigarh (2009) and Venkateshwar Open University (2020). His paintings are about the move from rural to urban life, told in bright colour through animals and buildings: tigers, zebras and birds set against city forms, stability against change. He has shown with the AIFACS and Camlin Art Foundation, at Dhoomimal Art Gallery, New Delhi, and in solo shows at the Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi, and Apparao Art Galleries, and has taken part in workshops with the Lalit Kala Akademi and the Indo British Art Foundation. Awards include one from the Red Cross Society of South Korea and one from the Bihar State Pollution Control Board. He lives in New Delhi.
