Diptej Vernekar Born in 1991 in Goa, India, Diptej Vernekar completed his Post graduation with a MFA from S. N. school of arts and communication dept. of Fine Arts, University of Hyderabad- India. His works have been exhibited in group shows at the Collateral Project for Kochi Muziris Biennale (2016), Serendipity Arts Festival Goa (2017), India Art Fair (2019), LATITUDE 28, New Delhi, India. (2021), etc. Additionally, he has taught at S.N. School of Arts and Communication,Dept. Fine Art, University of Hyderabad, India. Khoj International Artist Workshop GOA (2017), Inlaks Fine Art Award, Inlaks Shivdasani Foundation, India. and Forbes 30Under30, Forbes India (2019). Diptej’s work explores Poetics of human conditions, stories which translated in mystical or abstract charcoal drawings. Stories can never be recalled in their entirety, only in fragments that later come together in altered forms. Process involves error of wiping which becomes a catalyst in the abstract visuals of charcoal. The artist lives and works in Goa, India.
